Derek Jeter's Celebrity Girlfriend History

Derek Jeter, who is a shortstop for the New York Yankees, announced that 2014 would be his final season playing Major League Baseball on Facebook in February. After breaking his ankle during the American League Championship Series in 2012, he has been struggling to maintain his health amongst the pressures of the league. He was out for a significant portion of 2013 due to his broken ankle and following injuries. His note on Facebook was posted on February 12, 2014 and he was citing saying,

“Last year was a tough one for me. As I suffered through a bunch of injuries, I realized that some of the things that always came easily to me were always fun and started to become a struggle. The one thing I always said to myself was that when baseball started to feel more like a job, it would be time to move forward.”

Before retiring, Jeter has an unbelievable record that has made him a likely candidate for the 2020 Hall of Fame Induction. Throughout his career, Jeter has done more than than most current MLB players, including 13 All-Star appearances and five Gold Gloves, 3,316 hits, and 95% of the vote from the Baseball Writers’ Association of America. He has more hits than any New York Yankee ever and his stats rank him 10th all-time among shortstops.

In addition to being a nationally acclaimed baseball player, Jeter is also well known for his lengthy record of celebrity girlfriends, which have earned him the top position in the Bachelor Hall of Fame. Jeter has dated a wide range of celebrity women, ranging from one of his longest relationships with Mariah Carey, to his short-lived relationship with CBS soap opera star Jordana Brewster, to his brief time spent with Jessica Biel. At the end of this season, people are wondering if Jeter will retire from his celebrity tour of women at settle down with Mrs. Right.

Despite the long list of celebrity girlfriends, Jeter says, “Now it is time for the next chapter. I have new dreams and aspirations, and I want new challenges. There are many things I want to do in business and in philanthropic work, in addition to focusing on my personal life and starting a family of my own.” No doubt, Jeter will be remembered for his homeruns, like Adriana Lima and Vanessa Minillo.
