The manner in which they cry

Babies cry when they are hungry, when they want to be changed, when they want to be cuddled, and sometimes they cry for the sake of crying. Unexplainable crying is the number one reason parents are flabbergasted. Parents think they have satisfied every want imaginable, yet they cannot quiet their child. Researchers published a report on a study that listened to the cries of 39 infants, and they are inferring the way a child cries can be a way of identifying Autism.

Some of the infants in the study were from families with no precursors for autism. However, 21 of the infants had at least one autistic sibling. Researchers took note of the tone or pitch the infant used when crying. The significant part of this story is that those infants with a sibling diagnosed with autism, cried at a higher and intense pitch, as if they are were in pain.

This was a study conducted on a small scale. The researchers associated with this study would like to see future studies done on a larger scale. Researchers also stress that they do not want parents to be apprehensive whenever their child cries. The human ear is not able to discern the tones that were heard during this study. Those sounds were heard through computer analysis.
