The Man Cave, located at 1335 Marietta Blvd, Atlanta, Ga 30318, is a recently opened luxury men's sneaker store and the new hang out for sneakerheads and video game enthusiasts. Started by Frank McCullough and Taquan Portis, The Man Cave offers everything a sneakerhead, who loves to play video games, could want. McCullough who is originally from the Bronx, NY., says he got the idea when he noticed how much people enjoyed the Man cave he has at home. McCullough owns about 500 pairs of sneakers with his favorite pair being custom made from Nike with The Man Cave printed on them.
A self described sneaker elitist, The Man Cave combines McCullough's love of shoes and his talent for creating comfortable spaces.
"I looked around and saw all the sneakers I had and how much people liked his man cave you know with the pool table and video games and that is where I came up with the idea," McCullough says. "If men don't have a man cave, they can come here and hang out and play video games."
The grand opening was attended by music producers, DJs and movers and shakers in the Atlanta entertainment scene. Hookahs and video games were on deck as well as DJ Ace of V-103. The party lasted all night with men and even women enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Customers strolled in and out, buying and trading sneakers while most people relaxed and played video games. McCullough says the goal is for anybody to be able to take advantage of his man cave.
"There is no fee to come, but there is a small fee to play the video games. We are keeping the games strictly sports. That's why there are so many jerseys and everyone is playing baskbetball," McCullough says. "You can only buy exclusive sneakers here like the Nike Lebron James, Nike Dunks, Air Foamposites."
McCollough has a treaure on is hands in a place where men can come and hang out and even book private events. McCullough is also capitalizing on the video game fans by hosting a NBA 2k13 tournament for March Madness during the third weekend in March.
