Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is the man behind the movie “Innocence of Muslims” whose release triggered waves of violence in the Middle East. The photo TMZ released is of Nakoula and Anna Gurji who is an actress in the movie. The photo was taken during movie production.
Nakoula, who lives in Cerritos, California, got backing for the low-budget film from hardcore anti-Islamic organizations. The film triggered violence in several countries including Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Morocco, Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Palestinian territories.
Additionally according to the Huffington Post Nakoula’s family left their home in the middle of the night and have gone into hiding. A spokesman from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said the family left their house around 4 a.m. The family was escorted by the police to a safe location. They family is said to have been united with Nakoula at an undisclosed location.
Nakoula was interviewed by federal probation officers over the weekend and is said to have left his home under heavy disguise. Nakoula is on probation for a case in 2010. Apparently he did not learn his lesson the first time and this incident my well cost him his life.
