On Monday, Google put out new versions of their Google+ app for both iOS and Android, including upgrades like photo filters and edits (a la Instagram), new formatting for posts, enhanced location sharing, and increased control over communities from within the app. Here’s the lowdown on each of the new features.
Play around with your photos
If you like Instagram, then you will like Google+’s new photo enhancement features. Now when you share a picture, you can do standard edits like cropping, or you can add filters to change the appearance of the picture.
More functional posts
Now posts are more robust, with larger pictures and text, along with clickable links and photo albums.
Let your people know where you are
You can now share your current location on your profile, then choose who gets to see it..
Create a community
You can now manage a Google+ community from the app...search for members, moderate comments, and even if you don’t manage a community, you can still invite people to join.
