The love, or lack of money is behind BSA’s lifting of gay ban

Money has always been the root of all evil. People, organizations included, will rob, kill, steal and even prostitute their integrity and dignity for that lean, green and mean thing that often comes in the form of donations, but it’s still green.

All the talk of the Boy Scouts ending it’s ban on gay scouts and leaders isn’t done so under the pretext of being political correct, but with the sole purpose of selling out of their ‘First Amendment right of free expression when it came to the organization’s belief that homosexual conduct is inconsistent with values stated in the scout oath, requiring scouts to be morally straight.’

Let’s be crystal clear here, the scouts’ national organization board of directors are the ones dumping the gay ban and as such, they left the local chapters ‘free to decide for themselves whether to admit gay scouts.‘

Here’s the real deal, ‘about 50 local United Way groups and several corporations and charities have concluded that the ban violates their non-discrimination requirements and have ceased providing financial aid to the Boy Scouts. An official of The Human Rights Campaign, an advocate for gay rights, said HRC planned to downgrade its non-discrimination ratings for corporations that continue to give the BSA financial support.‘

Governor Rick Perry, who is an Eagle Scout, expressed his displeasure over the upcoming announcement next week with this, ‘the Scouts were a key reason that he had joined the Air Force and later sought public office, and that society’s failure to adhere to the organization’s core values was a cause for high rates of teenage pregnancy and wayward youths who grow up to be men joining their fathers in prison.’

As Perry goes, most of Texas will follow and as such, many are thinking, the scouts ‘should not soften its strict policy barring gay members, and dismissed the idea of bending the organization to the whims of “popular culture.”

For sure, this is not a political correct decision. It’s goes to the money, the downgrades and the survival of an organization that’s become like the rest of the country. Liberal in it’s motive, dangerous in it’s delivery and above all, a detriment to a society who’s been totally supportive of tradition.
