According to the official website of “Box Office Mojo” which tracks movie grosses. Hollywood movies that were filmed in New Mexico have racked up theater box office receipts in 2013. They include, “The Lone Ranger”, “The Last Stand”, “We're The Millers” & “2 Guns.” Three more western movies came to the state to film in 2013. They are, “Jane Got a Gun” with Natalie Portman, “The Homesman” with Tommy Lee Jones & “A Million Ways to Die in the West” with Seth MacFarlane. Other films include, “Enemy Way” with Forest Whitaker & “Force of Execution” with Steven Segal.
After all the hype & the critical bashing over “The Lone Ranger.” As of Sept. 8, 2013, the western film starring Johnny Depp (Tonto) and Armie Hammer (Lone Ranger) has now pulled in an estimated world wide total of $243,306,000. The U.S. domestic total reached $88,806,000. The production budget stood at $215 million, but rumored to reach $250 million. Disney says they had to write off $190 million for the next quarter even though it will go in-the-black by next month.
It is apparent that the star power of Johnny Depp reaches the globe. His fans have flocked to see “The Lone Ranger” in droves at the Foreign box office. Here are the top three box office totals. Japan with $19,932,153. Russia with $15,747,109. Germany with $10,070,545.

It is based on a popular comic book 'graphic novel' that grew excitement from fans when filming began in New Mexico. The movie has been in U.S. theaters for 6 weeks now. The estimated budget is $61 million.
The family comedy “We're The Millers” starring Jennifer Aniston has grabbed a world wide box office total of $178,944,000. The U.S. domestic total racked up $123,844,000 & the Foreign box office stands at $55,100,000. After the Sept. 6-8, 2013 weekend the film remains in the top 5 at the number '4' spot. The estimated production budget is $37 million.
The action film “The Last Stand” starring veteran Arnold Schwarzenegger has brought in a world wide total of $37,150,299. The Foreign box office total is at $25,100,000. The U.S. domestic haul brought in only $12,050,299. It appears that Schwarzenegger is more popular these days in other countries than in the U.S. The estimated production budget is $45 million.
