The Belvedere Lounge was a sight for sore eyes on Friday and Saturday evening. I ran past the W hotel Friday morning to get lunch and encountered a long line stretching out the hotel and down past the street of people clamoring for wristbands to this coveted event. When I came back 2 hours later, the line continued as everyone waited patiently for their wristbands that let them inside this once-a-year event at the W hotel.
Note to you guys for next year: Register for the party early and stand in line when the door opens.
Was it worth it? Yes. The party stretched the second floor of the W hotel and included everything from Belvedere beverages to free makeovers by Benefit and headphones by Ludacris. The W hotel was immaculate and mingling in the crowd were celebrities such as Leann Rimes and Eddie Cibrian while bands such as Two Door Cinema Crowd, The Black Lips, and Fitz and the Tantrums set the stage on fire. DJ Momjeans (AKA Hyde from That 70s show) and DJ Whiteshadow played their sets to close out the night.
Elijah Wood was here as well but sadly I missed him once again. By the end of Saturday night, the band managed to teepee the entire ballroom of the W hotel and I ran into fans wrapped in rolls and rolls of toilet paper that stretched to the ceiling! What a rockstar evening!
Special Thanks to: Benefit Cosmetics, Belvedere Vodka, SOUL by Ludacris and Rock the Vote!
