The Lollapalooza Party Recap: Miami Oasis/Express Lounge (Photos)

The Lollapalooza afterparties were the place to be in Chicago both Friday and Saturday nights. Rumors of a legendary performance by the Foo Fighters at the Metro were matched by personal stories of running into Eminem at the bar. Elijah Wood managed to deejay every single venue in Chicago in 2 days (and yet I still missed him!) and the Hard Rock Hotel resembled a scene in Almost Famous. It was glorious. beautiful. and unfortunately, over.

Without further ado, here are the parties that made it to the list this weekend:

The Miami Oasis and Express Lounge

Words cannot begin to describe how amazing this party was. It spanned 2 days from 11 to 6 and 2 floors at the Hard Rock Hotel with everything from food and drinks to some of the most intimate concerts I have ever been to.

The Miami Oasis had true elements of a rock star pad. Got2b sponsored a hair salon on the second floor that aimed to surpass the Guiness Book of World Records for the most rockstar hairstyles done in 1 weekend. Clearasil offered free facials and massages that made my skin tingle all day. CodeofConduct offered tattoos to rockstars and others daring enough to rock it out in the lounge. Other sponsors of the Miami Oasis included GUESS, Motorola, SOUL by Ludacris, Biotrue™, Pentel of America, Rock the Vote, Blue Microphones, MiO Liquid Water Enhancer, China Grill, popchips™. Drinks were on the house courtesy of UV Vodka and Asahi Beer.

The Express Lounge offered live music by bands such as Taylor Momsen and the Pretty Reckless as well as Samantha Ronson and the Undertakers. Elijah Wood also deejayed a set here (that I missed) among others. The best part of the Express Lounge was being able to sit intimately with others who are in the industry or truly enjoy music. Unlike Lollapalooza, there was air-conditioning, rows of comfy couches and a certain calm when the artist steps on stage. One of my friends commented during the Taylor Momsen show that it was "soul-touching."

Aside from the bands playing, there was also no shortage of celebrity sightings. Ellie Goulding, Quest Love, Kellan Lutz Ok Go and Death from Above 1979 were just a few of the bands and celebrities that showed up throughout the weekend. The turf on the Miami Oasis balcony was packed with so many unsuspecting celebs that my jaw dropped once I figured it out. I took an elevator with Samantha Ronson. Passed by Quest Love in the Got2B room. And stood next to John Legend all weekend without knowing it!

Special Thanks to: göt2b, GUESS, Clearasil®, Motorola, SOUL by Ludacris, Biotrue™, Pentel of America, Rock the Vote, Blue Microphones, KINECT for XBOX 360, Qdoba Mexican Grill, Whiskey Bar & Grill, VIBE Lifestyle Network, Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI), MiO Liquid Water Enhancer, China Grill, Popchips, UV Vodka, and Asahi Beer!
