Girls on the Run is hosting a film festival dedicated to raising awareness of women's issues while at the same time highlighting women filmmakers. This event is also geared towards raising funds to benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and Girls on the Run.
LunaFest will premier "The Littles," produced by DFW filmmaker Melody Brooke. Ms. Brooke and some of the cast members will be at LunaFest as well. A panel discussion will follow the premier and will feature Stephen Becker, a reporter with KERA and the editor of Art&Seek blog. Paul Goldberg, director, award winning writer, producer, and lecturer will be on the panel, and award winning producer with AMS Pictures, Monika Watkins, will be answering questions as well.
"The mission of Girls on the Run is to inspire girls to be joyful,healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running....Girls on the Run of the DFW Metroplex is an Independent Council of Girls on the Run International, which has a network of over 150 locations across the United States and Canada."
