There is a tiny little shelter trying to make a difference and doing it. In a world filled with big time shelters with resources and programs like the Humane Society who has a huge euthanasia rate, but lots of calendars and high paid executives, little Seagoville, Texas is walking the walk. And, that does not mean down the hall to the euthanasia room.
Seagoville Shelter has a Facebook page as well as a Petfinder page where the animals for adoption can be viewed.
They don’t have a big volunteer program or huge government subsidies, but Seagoville Shelter has one thing that all the money and grants in the world cannot buy. Seagoville has a heart.
You can see that heart in the pictures on their Petfinder site. You can hear it in the emails sent by rescuers who recognize this rare quality in the world of high kill shelters like Garland Animal Services who labels almost every dog a pit bull and who just recently was forced to retire their inhumane gas chamber. Heads up to shelter manager Diane Oats, don’t come to Seagoville. Your kind is not wanted or welcome in a town like Seagoville.
Soon, there will be a no kill nation. It won’t be tomorrow, but it will be here. The times they are a changing.
This shelter is rescue friendly!
For now, please visit this wonderful little shelter where all animals are treated equally and all animals get a chance to live. Wouldn’t it be nice if all shelters could take a page from the Seagoville Shelter book of kindness?
Seagoville Shelter is only open on Saturdays from 11 to 2.
Seagoville Shelter is located just minutes from downtown Dallas at:

Wooo hoooo! Luv it...Luv the message and the reference to Garland and Diane. Well written and well said! Seagoville is a wonderful shelter where the people care! Please consider adopting and saving a life! Here there are wonderful, deserving animals waiting to be SAVED!
I rescued a wonderful pittie girl they called Faith I kept her name. She is 5 years old and moving a little slow but she is precious and has changed so much since I have had her. I am so glad they saved her life.
