Apr 15, 2011 – El Leon de la Salsa, Venezuelan singer Oscar D’ Leon, performed non-stop for over two hours Thursday evening at the Conga Room.
With the energetic show that has become his trademark, D’ Leon began his performance at 11 pm decked in a tailored suit that did not stay complete for too long before the jacket came off, and the shirt’s sleeves rolled up and the tails untucked.
If there is something that the Conga Room prides itself on is its security team, but if there is something D’Leon likes is having the ladies around him. Not as many people, as it is the rule during his concerts, got to dance on stage, so, “if Mohammed won’t come to the mountain…” D’Leon stepped off the stage and onto the floor to walk between the crowd. The security guards must have had a fright!
This was another great Salsa show at the Conga Room. Coming up Orquesta Guayacan from Colombia will perform on April 28 and merenguero Elvis Crespo on May 19. Tickets can be purchased at http://www.congaroom.com Code SALSERA will save you $5 off each ticket.
