The lights, and the linebacker highlight the week that was

The week that was featured the bright lights and glamour that accompany every super Bowl: even though the lights went out! The game featured a once polarizing figure who had now become the story of the playoffs; even while the wife of vanquished foe was quick to remind everyone of his past.

The Super Bowl game will no doubt be labeled as one of the best games of all time. The game featured a lights out performance by Beyonce. Later, the lights in the New Orleans Superdome went out! Said one TV observer:

"There is something spiritual about those lights; a spiritual message, if you will. It should serve as a reminder that our lights (Christian’s) should shine in the midst of darkness. Even though it took 30 minutes for the game to resume, the stadium never went totally dark. We don't need an army of lights to stamp out darkness. We only need one.”

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis announced before the play offs that he would be retiring. Lewis was giving up the game he loved to spend more time with the family he loved. After every playoff game, Lewis could be counted on to quote a scripture (No weapon formed against thee shall prosper).

The wife of New England wide receiver Wes Welker was not as "moved" by Lewis' testimonies. Said Welker’s wife:

“Proud of my husband and the Pats. By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids, 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay. What a hall of fame player! A true role model!”

One Christian, upon hearing the statements made by Welker, stated the following:

“I don't think people understand how Christianity works. Christ came to forgive sin; not to constantly harp on it like some 70's movie. We all have skeletons. I'm sure if she looks long and hard enough, she’ll find some of her own.

"It’s all about lights! Lights that should be shining for the entire world to see, and what the world sees when it examines the light. What it should see is a God first society. Instead, it sees lights shining on poor decision makers, and people who make poor choices with their words. It is the mountain that we cannot conquer.
