Folk rock duo The Levins (husband and wife Ira and Julia) will appear with Americana singer/songwriter Loretta Hagen at The Turning Point Café in Piermont, NY for an afternoon show on Sunday, March 23rd at 4 PM.
From The Levins' Website:
The Levins ( pronounced The L'Vins ) Ira and Julia Levin combine harmony-driven acoustic folk rock with wistful overtones of the 1930s and the intention of putting a smile on your face. Original tunes, guitar, piano and voices provide a full sound with unexpected harmonies and unique arrangements. It's Happy-Folk, Smile Pop....sounds like The Mamas and The Papas having coffee with Cole Porter. 2011 Winners of the Connecticut Folk Festival Songwriting Competition.
Their latest CD My Friend Hafiz was inspired by the poetry of 14th century mystic, Hafiz as rendered by David Ladinsky.
Loretta Hagen, a 2013 JAM Awards 'Top Female Songwriter of the Year,' features heartfelt ballads, up-tempo country swing, and cool bluesy grooves on her latest CD Mud and Stone.
The Turning Point Café is located at 468 Piermont Ave, Piermont NY
