If you are missing the 80s or just a big fan of 80s music the State Theatre in Falls Church has just the cure for you this weekend. The Legwarmers, who are the Washington area’s premiere 80s cover band is playing two shows this weekend at the famous club. They will play the soundtrack t the 80s and they will dress the part! So put your hair up, grab your Member’s Only jacket and come out and join the party and enjoy the sounds of an interesting decade.
The band features Chet Reno on bass and vocals, Lavaar Huxtable drives the beat on drums and Cyndi Sindee adds her talents on percussion when she isn’t singing to round out the rhythm section. Cru Jones and Gordon Gartrell provide the guitars and some more vocals. It wouldn’t be an 80s band without the keyboards which Captain Morgan Pondo provides. Clarence McFly adds tenor sax to the band.
The band plays songs from anyone in the 80s from A Flock of Seagulls to Whitesnake. I do mean anyone artists such as AC/DC. Ah Ha, The Bangles, Billy Idol, The Cars, Devo, Duran Duran, The Go-Go’s, Guns and Roses, Huey Lewis, Tom Petty, Madonna, Wham and many more. The band has a loyal following and a lot of music to pull from so it is no wonder they are playing Friday and Saturday night. The band also has dates booked to play in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Richmond and Norfolk. You can learn more about the band at their radical website.
The doors for the shows will open at 8PM and the music is scheduled to start at 9:30PM. Tickets for the show are $18 and can be ordered here. The State Theatre will offer their full menu of delicious food and the bars will be serving your favorite drinks all night.
