All hail to Queen Latifah on celebrating 44 years yesterday. The Queen had several surprises on her show yesterday afternoon including the famous female Gospel group The Clark Sisters. The Clark Sisters, known for their multi-genre sound, has broken down many barriers which has allowed them to minister to a wider audience. Performing on the Queen Latifah Show is a testament to their music's far reaching effect.

Dana Elaine Owens, better known to us as Queen Latifah, was certainly surprised to see the sisters Jacky, Twinkie and Karen of The Clark Sisters (sans sister Dorinda Clark Cole) grace her stage singing their legendary hit single "You Brought The Sunshine" (originally released in 1981). She was so full of emotion she had to be handed a tissue to dab at her eyes after the performance. Queen Latifah excitingly stated that she some times listens to their song "Name It Claim It" for inspiration and motivation before her show. As another surprise, The Clark Sisters presented her with a framed signed copy of their album. In response, the Queen exclaimed that she had all their albums. What a day. The first season of her talk show, Queen Latifah celebrated her birthday in style.

Queen Latifah isn't the only one celebrating these days. The Clark Sisters' member Jacky Clark Chisolm is on the brink of debuting her new single "My Season" (click here for a sneek peek) on March 25 and her new devotional book "Inspirational Praise" is already out. Karen Clark Sheard joined up again with award winning singer, songwriter and producer Donald Lawrence on her live album recorded in Chicago in late 2013. Her new single "Sunday Morning (A.M.)" (click here to listen) will be released as well on March 25. The mother of Kierra and J. Drew Sheard Jr., Karen has been instrumental and seen in several episodes of the family's new docu-series "The Sheards", on the BET cable network, managing being First Lady, wife, mother, recording artist, record label president and philanthropist. Twinkie Clark has been touring since her new album "Live & Unplugged" released August 2013. Dorinda Clark Cole "The Rose" also has been traveling on singing and speaking engagements. She's been celebrating the debut of her new talk show on the Totally Christian Television (TCT) network "The Dorinda Show".

The adage "A family that prays together stays together" defines The Clark Sisters. Keep an ear open and a look out for more from these sisters.
