“The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia” is a 274-page book written by Akira Himekawa, featuring official Zelda artwork as well as the history of the "Zelda" universe, and was published by Dark Horse. Yesterday, Feb. 10, 2013, it was revealed that it sits at the top of the New York Times Bestseller list barely a week into its western release.
It's sitting on top of the "Hardcover Advice & Misc." category, which you can see for yourself by clicking here. “The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia” was originally released on Dec. 21, 2011 in Japan, and due to its massive success, and overwhelming demand, an English language version was released by Dark Horse Comics on Jan. 29, 2013.
The “Hyrule Historia” is divided into three sections. The first section, "The Origin Story", describes the events covered in the Wii game “Skyward Sword”. The next section is "A Complete History of Hyrule", which reviews the storyline of each game, additionally suggesting a complete take on the “Zelda” Timeline, which includes where each game fits within the timeline, something that hadn’t been revealed previously. The rest of the book is filled with concept and production artwork from the 25 years of the franchise, including 32 pages of the “Skyward Sword” manga by Akira Himekawa.
