According to Nielsen BookScan charts, The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia, published by Dark Horse became the #1 selling book in America last week.
It also reached the Wall Street Journal and New York Times Bestseller list. Not only that, but the book has also received positive reviews from both online critics and users on Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, and Goodreads.
Worldwide this book has already sold almost 400,000 copies.
The first edition of this book released January 29th, 2013.
This feels like a bit of an achievement for the gaming community. A book, illustrating the history of a game franchise becomes the #1 selling book the week it is released. The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia is filled with concept art, the history of Hyrule, and an exclusive comic by Akira Himekawa. Some Zelda fans have dubbed this book as the "Zelda bible".
