The 'Left is doubling down yet again

The ‘Interesting Phenomenon ’ that this column spoke about here, is continuing.

Two new, ‘Gun’ bills have just been introduced, and of course the text is not yet available officially.

H.R. 965: To prohibit the possession or transfer of junk guns, also known as Saturday Night Specials. Thanks must be expressed to Kurt Hofmann for the heads up this bill.

S. 443: A bill to increase public safety by punishing and deterring firearms trafficking.

S. 443. Just another bill with VERY similar titles. What is so interesting is that on Thursday, Mar 7, S.54, Stop Illegal Trafficking in Firearms Act of 2013 (Leahy) will come before the committee along with S 150, the AWB bill, and several others.

Since Leahy is the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, it’s easy to see that if one of his gun bills fails, another is already in the wings just waiting for him to call. And he will call when he feels the time is right.

With all the anti gun bills introduced, it appears the ‘left’ is amassing their own version of ‘Cluster Munitions’ in the form of large numbers of bills in the hope they may actually get something passed.

Tomorrow, MAR 7, 2013 will be an interesting day in the Judiciary Committee with what is on the days agenda. We have the Gonzales nomination, and 4 different anti gun bills with S. 150, the AWB bill topping the list.

There appears to be the possibility of the AWB bill making it out of Committee, but only just. Passing on the floor of the Senate is an entirely a different matter and in no way assured.

This timing for these considerations could be better, on the floor. Don’t forget, John Kerry is no longer in the Senate, nor has he been replaced so the Dems are at least one vote down on the floor.
