A significant percentage of fast food enthusiasts and connoisseurs realize by now the lack of vitamins and nutrients in meals that most fast food restaurants offer. Whether it is a big greasy burger, a plate of fries or a huge container of soda, most of the national chains will force you to drop into a fetal position lying in your bed screaming for a month.
Although studies and news reports will claim how bad eating at McDonald’s, Wendy’s or Burger King is for you, a lot of health experts and reporters will not go into detail about what specific items are worse than others.
There are three factors to consider when making the distinction between a Big Mac and a Whopper: calories, sodium and fat.
Here are the top seven least healthy fast food items (in no particular order) available to almost anyone.
Burger King: Quad Stacker
With nearly 1,000 calories and 28 grams of saturated fat, Burger King’s Quad Stacker is one of the worst burgers around for your heart. It even consists of 1,740 (mg) of sodium – the suggested daily intake of sodium for a person between the ages of nine and 50 is 1,500 mg.
Taco Bell: Volcano Nachos
Unhealthy fast food meals don’t just have to be burgers and sandwiches, but also nachos. Taco Bell’s Volcano Nachos have exactly 1,000 calories, nine grams of saturated fat and 1,570 milligrams of sodium.
McDonald’s: Chocolate Triple Thick Shake (32oz.)
More than a Big Mac, Angus Bacon and Cheese Burger or a large soda, the McDonald’s Chocolate Triple Thick Shake has 1,160 calories, 27 grams of fat and only 250 milligrams of sodium.
Red Robin: Wise Guy Burger
This is a burger that is topped with marinara sauce, pepperoni and three fried mozzarella sticks. If you thought the Quad Stacker was going to send you to the emergency room, look at this one’s calorie content information: 1,012 calories, 2,020 milligrams of sodium and 51 grams of fat.
Carl’s Jr.: Double Six Dollar Burger
Although it’s a pretty simple burger that seems like any other sandwich at your local Burger King or Wendy’s: two beef patties, cheese, bacon and the other condiments. This is, though, a hefty burger: 1,522 calories, 110 grams of fat and 2,572 milligrams of sodium.
Nathan’s: French Fries (large)
French fries are certainly delicious, but they are not a terrific alternative to taters, vegetables and salads. Nathan’s large French Fries have 759 calories, 52 grams of fat and 278 milligrams of sodium
KFC: Double Down
It was rated the worst sandwich on Earth. A sandwich that is just gluttonous (bacon, two different kinds of melted cheese, secret sauce and two chicken fillets), it’s no surprise that many viewed it as that. Nevertheless, it was a successful sandwich, but not good for bodies everywhere: 610 calories, 37 grams of fat and 1,880 milligrams of sodium.
