The latest on the terrified dog at the California animal control facility (Photos)

The terrified, young German shepherd mix who was kenneled at the Lancaster, Calif., Animal Care and Control facility last week was heavily networked by dedicated animal lovers who wanted to see him have a chance.

Thanks to that networking, and especially to one rescue organization who was willing and able to help, that dog is now safe.

On Jan. 29, he was known only as #A4538008.

Today, he has a name - Bailey.

On Monday, Baldwin Paws Rescue pulled Bailey from the animal control building and he walked to freedom.

The rescue organization notes that Bailey is nervous, which is understandable. Hopefully, with time and patience, Bailey will gain much needed confidence and learn what it means to be a happy dog.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to network Bailey's information!
