The Last of Us is renowned as not only one of these years’ top titles, but a top title of an entire generation. Mixing brilliant story telling with smart in game mechanics backed by beautiful visuals, Naughty Dog wanted to send off the PlayStation 3 in style, and my-oh-my was it a send off.
Luckily for those who just can't get enough of Naughty Dogs show stopper, plans for a new single player expansion have finally been (officially) announced. Staring a new cast of characters, the expansion pack will tie directly into the main games story line:
When we initially talked about the Season Pass we mentioned making our first ever story-driven single player DLC. This is an ambitious story with strong ties into the narrative of The Last of Us. We just wrapped up a long casting process for a new character, and we’re starting our performance capture shoot next week. The single-player DLC is currently planned for release around the December-January timeframe.
This is some fantastic news, and guarantee's some fantastic experiences for PlayStation 3 users post PlayStation 4 release. There has been no official release date given, but somewhere around late December is the projected release date.
