Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed that “The Last of Us Remastered” will be released for the PS4. According to a report from Metro on April 10, the next-generation port of the survival-horror action-adventure title is expected to feature improved graphics along with including several post-launch DLC packs. Some exclusive contents are also going to be added to the package.
“The Last of Us” will be rebuilt for the PS4 with full native 1080p support. To go along with having more pixels, Naughty Dog also decided to use character models with a higher resolution along with improvements to the lighting and shadow elements. Aside from the visual enhancements, some of the gameplay features will also be updated although the changes were not specified.
Arne Meyer provided an explanation as to why his studio is making a strong effort for “The Last of Us Remastered.” The community strategist at Naughty Dog stated that the development team loved to overcome challenges. He also added that they are trying to create a next-generation port that should commendably represent the award-winning title. According to IGN, the remastered port also comes with several DLC expansions with the Abandoned Territories Map Pack and Reclaimed Territories Map Pack for the multiplayer mode. Finally, the retail listing mentions that “The Last of Us Remastered” has a price tag of $59.99. Most remastered ports are usually price lower than high-definition games built from the ground up. It appears that this won’t be the case this time around, however. The PS4 port will be arriving alter this summer.
