Naughty Dog released one of the Playstation 3’s best titles when The Last of Us launched last year. Now, according to a report from the official Playstation Blog on April 9, the developer is releasing a remastered version of the post-apocalyptic masterpiece for the PS4 later this year.
Coming this summer, The Last of Us Remastered will launch exclusively on the PS4 and will bring a number of technical improvements over the PS3 edition along with it. The PS4 remastered version of the game will run in full 1080p resolution and will feature upgraded character models and textures. Additionally, the next-gen upgrade will improve the lighting and shadow engine which will further enchance the title’s visuals.
The PS4 edition of The Last of Us will also come with all of the game’s DLC content including the single player add-on, Left Behind, which serves as a prequel story that tells the events which would eventually lead Ellie on her later adventure with Joel. Furthermore, the remastered game will also feature full director’s commentary for all of the many cinematics within The Last of Us. The commentary will be provided by Creative Director Neil Druckmann along with Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson who voiced the games two protagonists, Joel and Ellie.
An exact release date hasn’t been revealed, but fans will be able to pick up The Last of Us Remastered only on the PS4 at some point this summer.
