Following in the footsteps of inFamous: Second Son, Naughty Dog is providing fans with the tools to capture their own quality screenshots of The Last of Us Remastered with the inclusion of a built-in Photo Mode. According to a report by Joystiq on July 27, the Playstation 4 remake of last year’s critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic epic will launch with a Photo Mode. This mode will give gamers the ability to pause the game in order to set up and take their own pictures of the enhanced visuals of the new-gen re-release.
Once in game, players will access The Last of Us Remastered Photo Mode by pressing L3 on the DualShock 4 controller. Photo Mode will automatically pause the game and open up a new menu of manipulation options to allow gamers to set the screenshot how they see fit.
The new in-game tools give fans the ability to do things like move the camera, change focus, and adjust the lighting. After the desired composition is acquired, Photo Mode also gives players the option to select between several filter and frame choices to further customize their picture. Once fans are ready to save the screenshot, they simply have to hide the user interface and press the Playstation 4’s share button to save.
While The Last of Us just released on the Playstation 3 last year, the HD remake improves on the game’s visuals in several ways. For starters, the PS4 release of the Naughty Dog title will run at a native resolution of 1080p with 60 frames per second. Additionally, the new-gen remake will also features new high-res textures. These new textures will greatly improve the title’s visuals which is part of the reason the new Photo Mode exists.
The Last of Us Remastered launches today on the PS4. In addition to bringing the game to the new generation platform, the re-release also includes all the title’s DLC add-ons.
