Yesterday, we reported on the potential delay of the upcoming PS3 exclusive, “The Last of Us.” Sadly, today Naughty Dog officially confirmed that this title has indeed been delayed past its original release date of May 7, 2013.
Provided on the official PlayStation Blog, Naughty Dog explains that they have realized that the team needs more time to polish this title before it is officially released. “Instead of cutting corners or compromising our vision, we came to the tough decision that the game deserved a few extra weeks to ensure every detail of The Last of Us was up to Naughty Dog’s internal high standards.”
Although it may come as disappointing news that this title has been pushed back, fans should be understanding of this delay. With this extra development time, Naughty Dog will have the ability to provide a completely polished and high-quality title at the time of its release.
