Sony announced two Playstation 3 Collector's Editions for "The Last of Us" called the "Survival Edition" and the "Post-Pandemic Edition." The latter comes with a Joel and Ellie statue along with a high retail price.
The Survival Edition of "The Last of Us" will cost $79.99 and comes with the Steelbook edition of the game that packs the previously announced Sights & Sounds DLC pack. In addition, there is a 170 page hardcover artbook from Dark Horse titled, "The Art of the Last Us." The first issue of "The Last of Us: American Dreams" comic book is also included which tells the tale of Ellie's backstory.
Meanwhile, the Post-Pandemic Edition weighs in at $159.99 that comes with all of the content from the Survival Edition but swaps out the artbook for a 12-inch premium statue of Joel and Ellie by Project Triforce. The statue alone would retail for $199.99 according to Sony Product Marketing Manager, Mick Perona. There's also a bonus Survival DLC Pack that comes with bonus multiplayer XP, a melee booster, in-game currency, customizeable character items and Joel and Ellie skins that unlock in multiplayer once the single-player campaign is completed.
"The Last of Us" is due out May 7 exclusively for the PS3.
