Naughty Dog, the developer behind the recently-released “The Last of Us” and the upcoming “Uncharted” video game for the PS4, may be working on a cooperative mode. According to a report from the iGame Responsibly website on Dec. 2, the studio is currently looking for a co-op game designer.
The job description reads that the applicant will be designing and scripting enemy encounters in the cooperative mode. He or she is also tasked with working on the game modes, progression systems, reward structures, social features and other related aspects. You can check out a few screenshots from “The Last of Us” in the slideshow to the left of this article and the job description below (courtesy of iGame Responsibly):

- Co-op system design – creating mechanics, game modes, progression systems, reward structures, social features, etc. to serve the co-op experience. Creating and iterating gameplay designs with the team, and working in script to implement and/or tune them
- A strong passion to innovate in the area of co-op design
- Strong understanding of co-op gameplay mechanics
Naughty Dog has two development teams. The first released “The Last of Us” for the Playstation 3 earlier this year. The other recently announced that they are working on the next installment of the “Uncharted” series for the PS4.
Although “The Last of Us” does not include a cooperative mode, the previous two “Uncharted” installments did. It appears that the job advertisement will most likely be for the upcoming PS4 project.
Sony Computer Entertainment is the publisher behind the two software products. The same company also launched the PS4 next-generation system on Nov. 15 in North America and Nov. 29 in Europe.
