The Las Vegas IndieMeet will be celebrating its 10th anniversary the weekend of June 6 – 8 at the home of Filmmakers Mike and Sheila Conway. For local filmmakers the event offers a unique opportunity for socializing, watching some of the best independent films being made and seeing new equipment and techniques during the demo sessions. Throughout the years movie makers have come from Arizona, L.A., Texas and other locations to attend along with several well known members of the independent filmmaking community including Jeremy Settles, Joshua Cohen and Stu Chaiken. There’s also a smorgasbord of food including Sheila’s amazing homemade chocolate chip cookies to look forward to.
This year’s activities begin on Friday night, June 6th with the traditional meet and greet and Hors D’Oeuvres served from 6pm – 9pm followed by screenings of both shorts and feature films until approximately 2am. The festivities continue on Saturday the 7th from 2pm to 8pm with presentations, demos and pizza, then from 9pm until 11pm the 3 minute or less entries from The A.D.D. Film Festival will be screened before prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are awarded from 11pm until midnight. The evening will wrap up from 12am – 2am with a showing of miscellaneous short films. Finally, on Sunday the 8th several attendees plan to meet up at 1:30 and go see Tom Cruise’s new film “Edge of Tomorrow” before heading out to a barbecue and pool party from 5pm – 9pm. The event wraps up from 10pm – 2am with more short films being screened out in the Conway’s backyard where there will be a welcoming bonfire and lots of networking.
