From what I've seen thus far, and preseason means nothing as it compares to the regular season, however I can see the Los Angeles Clippers or the Golden State Warriors winning the Western Conference. The Clippers have a great opportunity to win the West, with a championship coach like Doc Rivers who brought an edge, different outlook, and championship mystique to this team that the players have bought in to.
Chris Paul known as CP3 being the floor general he is, will be lights out while creating some amazing plays, and being an even more solid defender.
Blake Griffin has improved his shot, and that off season hard work that Doc Rivers spoke about at media day has certainly started to pay off. Griffin has got to stand his ground on the court this season, and continue to make his presence felt on both ends of the floor.
DeAndre Jordan is a hard player, and we'll see more of him posterizing players this season, yet I'm not sure how effective he'll be at the free throw line. He continues to struggle and that is an area where the Clippers will need to address as the pursue to win ball games. Jordan can be a big time defender, and his talent and presence will be needed more so this season especially in the fourth quarter.
When the Clippers acquired Jared Dudley and JJ Reddick for Eric Bledsoe, that's when they moved into a different direction towards the top of the West. I think the Darren Collison pick up was also very smart for this team with this style of offense being implemented by Rivers.
Can't forget the return of Matt Barnes who still is a very good defender and deadly at the 3 point line, along with another big body and solid player in Ryan Hollins to bulk up that bench.
This will be the year if he remains healthy that Jamal Crawford wins the sixth man of the year award. Not only does he bring a scoring presence with that second unit, but an electricity on the floor that is unmatched.
The toughness of Willie Green who hasn't forgotten about their early first round exit last season at the hands of the Memphis Grizzles, this Clipper team if healthy has all of the ingredients of a championship five course meal.
