The Krispy Kreme Burger Recipe - The best way to clog your arteries

A recipe for the Krispy Kreme Burger -- looks appetizing, right?

I just want to start out this article by saying that this burger is illeagel in San Francisco.

The donut burger bun --set ontop of  a bacon cheeseburger with a buttered Krispy Kreme glazed donut standing in for a bun -  has become the coolest things for a hamburger patty and cheese to sit on since...sliced bread.

Pioneered somewhere in the south, and supposidly originally as, The Luther Burger, the Krispy Kreme Burger has been  popularized by Food Network host Paula Deen, and on such Food Network shows as Man vs. Food.

According to NYdailynews.com ,it was a big hit at this year's Big E fair in Massachusetts. Fairgoers bought about 1,000 "Craz-E Burgers" each day of the fair's 17-day run, and ironically  was sold just outside the West Springfield agricultural fair's "Better Living Center."

The over-the-top donut burger has become a national sensation despite the growing awareness of eating healthier from local or organic markets and free range meat products.

The Gateway Grizzlies, a minor league baseball team in Illinois known more for their death-defying ballpark food than their hitting, touched off the craze in 2006 by adding a $4.50 donut burger to the concession lineup.

If you can't make it to Decatur to try the heart and artery clogger, but feel like you can handle it, why not disgust your significant other and make it yourself.  (It will seriously disgust your significant other, unless yours is the type whose eyes light up at the thought of a Ripper).

OMG... too much of a good thing! This wouldn't fly in NYC either, since chain restaurants have to list calorie counts for dishes. This one would be off the charts!

When I hear Krispy Kreme, I see The Devil. (I was just talking this evening over dinner with friends re: whether Michelle Obama's childhood obesity initiative has legs -- and about Jamie Oliver's related TED award -- HELLLOOO... KK must DIE.)
