The original cowl, that Katniss wears in the movie is woven, rather than knit. Lion Brand has a pattern for knitting and one for crocheting the cowl. Then there is another knit pattern by Lollyknits. Which one will be on your needles? These are fashion knits for a new age.

“As a designer, you always imagine a complex and magnetic heroine in your clothes, so seeing Katniss is a surreal experience.” Capital couture collection was designed by costume designer Trish Summerville. Her 16-piece luxury collection is available online at retailer Net-A-Porter.

Make it a point to see the movie. You may get some ideas to design your own cutting edge knit garments.
