The local chapter of the Knights of Columbus is co-hosting an event to celebrate our nation’s heroes. The Fair Haven chapter of the Knights of Columbus; in partnership with the Chapter 12 branch of the Vietnam Veterans of American, are co-hosting an event to honor these brave men and women.
The occasion is scheduled for October 17, 2013 at the Fair Haven Council Hall of the Knights of Columbus. For its part, the Knights of Columbus provides outreach and support to individuals who are in need of assistance in the Monmouth County area. As one of the most important, yet forgotten segments of the American population, the event co-organizers believed that it is their duty to pay tribute to these local heroes.
As a way to show their gratitude, the organizers are inviting local war veterans to share their personal experiences about their overseas deployment. During that night, these war heroes will share some insight on combat and how it has or has not affected their personal lives.
As audience members listen to these oral histories, it is only then, that the audience will understand how these brave souls, cope with the dangers of combat. How these former soldiers adjust to civilian life is one of the interesting topics to be discussed during the evening. The two hour event will include a video and enough time for people to meet the Vietnam Veterans.
The event is on October 17, 2013 and it begins at 7pm and goes until 9pm. For those who plan to attend, they can expect light refreshments to be served throughout the night. The event is free and open to the public. For those who want more information, feel free to contact John Ridgeway or visit the website for more details. The show takes place at the Fair Haven location of the Knights of Columbus.
