**UPDATE** Due to overwhelming demand, The Knife will be performing a second show at Fox Theatre Oakland the following night, Wednesday, April 16. Tickets go on sale on Thursday, January 23 at 10:00 AM PST (password = funky).

Last week, the line-up for the fifteenth installment of the annual Coachella Music and Arts festival was announced. Fans were especially delighted to see Outkast and The Knife on the bill for opening day. However, for those not willing to brave the desert heat, or the cost of the three-day excursion in the notoriously expensive area of Indio, California, good news arrived today in the form of The Knife's 2014 North American tour announcement. This will be their first appearance in Canada and the States since 2006's Silent Shout trek.

Besides performing both weekends at Coachella in support of their latest full-length release, Shaking The Habitual, the team, which includes a combination of over twenty performers, set designers, and program managers, will be coming to Oakland's Fox Theatre on Tuesday, April 15, before heading back down to the desert for the second weekend of festival duties. Tickets for this particular show go on sale this Friday, January 17 at 12:00 PM PST.

This tour is a modified extension stemming from their string of performances in the European club and festival circuit last year. In their own words: "This is a continuation. Some songs are the same, some songs are new. Moves are added and changed. Some instruments are electrified and more voices are heard. Things glow and along the way we have elevated ourselves."
