As a fabulous diversion from horse shows, The Kentucky Horse Club (the Park) is lending its beautiful grounds to the dogs - show dogs that is. From August 29 through September 2, 2013, the Park is hosting the Lexington Kennel Club, Northern Kentucky Kennel Club and Mid-Kentucky Kennel Club for the Bluegrass Cluster of Dog Shows. The shows will be held, one each day, in the air-conditioned Alltech Arena at the Park. Each day a new dog show will be held, complete with daily awards in Groups and Best in Show.
Exhibiting dogs will be judged in conformation, obedience, rally, and Junior Showmanship competitions. Several special events are planned for each day as well. Spectators can enjoy the ever popular Meet the Breeds. On Saturday, August 31, the Fayette County 4-H Dog Club Drill Team will perform to the music from the Lion King.
Food/Vendors: Food is available on the premises. Everyone is invited to visit the many dog-vendor booths to shop for merchandise related to canines.
Admission: Carload admission to the dog show is set at $5.00 per carload with parking at $3.00. Also offered are discounted multi-day passes.
Location of Events: The Kentucky Horse Park is located at 4089 Iron Works Parkway, Lexington, Kentucky.
