The Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato pull in 8 million viewers for 'Camp Rock 2'

As expected, "Camp Rock 2" turned out to be an enormous success for the Disney Channel. How big of an audience did the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato pull in? According to the newest reports, the total number of viewers rounded out at about eight million.

Putting this in perspective, "Camp Rock 2" had the largest numbers of any cable movie this year. Disney is also boasting that if each one of viewers made the average price for entering a movie (which is close to $8), their production would have pulled in $63 million on its opening day. (Of course, not everyone who actually watched on TV would be willing to pay to see it on the big screen.)

For the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, these numbers clearly show that the two acts each still have an impressive fan base -- even if some tour ticket sales have been underwhelming this summer thanks in part to a poor economy. "Camp Rock 2" is presumably the last chapter in the franchise (hence the subtitle "The Final Jam"), but after numbers like these you have to believe Disney will look for some way to bring the gang back together again.
