The Joe Schmo Show returns to Spike

In 2003 Spike TV launched the reality show hoax The Joe Schmo Show that took all the aspects of popular reality shows, the big difference is that it was cast with all actors with the exception of one poor sap who was the brunt of the joke. After the success of the first season they continued with another season that tackled the bachelor/bachelorette theme, but after that the show disappeared.

Now Spike is bringing back the ultimate prank with an all-new season of The Joe Schmo Show this time taking on aspiring bounty hunters. Once again the show is filled with actors and one unsuspecting contestant. In addition, this time around it will feature its first celebrity playing themselves in the form of Lorenzo Lamas. All the other actors portray the stereotypical archetypes including the buddy, the ex-con, the model, the asshole, the widow, and more.

Ralph Garman returns once again to host the show, but this time as host and bounty hunter Jake Montrose alongside his trophy wife played by Amanda Landry.

If you’ve never checked this show out, you are missing out. It not only makes fun of all the reality show nonsense, but delivers a pretty fun reality show of its own.

Get in on the hoax when the long awaited Joe Schmo Show returns for the first new season since 2004 debuts on January 8, 2013 on SPIKE.
