The Jefferson Awards and All Stars Helping Kids announce top ten finalists

The Jefferson Awards has partnered with Redwood City based All Stars Helping Kids to select the final ten nominees out of thirty-six finalist for the The Jefferson Awards. The ten finalists are considered the “Dream Team for Public Service.”  Ronnie Lott, former San Francisco 49er football player, NFL Hall of Famer and Founder of All Stars Helping Kids, announced today the ten finalists who will be officially recognized for their exemplary commitment to service in their community.

The ten “Dream Team for Public Service” finalists will be recognized at the All Stars Helping Kids annual Sports, Business & Philanthropy Breakfast in the Bay Area on March 14, 2011.

During the next two months, each nominee will be raising money for the charity of their choice through a text-to-donate campaign. All Stars Helping Kids will be matching the funds raised up to $2,500 for each finalist. Two of the ten finalists will be chosen this spring to attend the Jefferson Awards National Banquet which will be held at our Nation’s Capital on June 21, 2011. Past recipients of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service include; Oprah Winfrey, Colin Powell, Lance Armstrong and Bill and Melinda Gates.
