A few months ago, a Facebook friend posted about what she found interesting in her area. She wrote about one morning during a jog she noticed something peculiar about the neighborhood behind her. She saw large construction equipment in someone’s front yard. Concerned, she spoke to another neighbor about this. The neighbor told her that the houses in that neighborhood were sinking. The developer who had purchased the land overlooked the soil's poor content, he had ignored its instability and pressed on with his plans anyway. This large investment that each homeowner was forced to make, literally doubled the price that they paid for their homes. What a bummer! The structure's stability rests on the dependability and strength of what it’s built upon.
Therefore, everyone who hears what I say and obeys it will be like a wise person who built a house on rock. Matthew 7:24
When we place our hope or our security, trust, and hope on a solid foundation. We will never be disappointed. To build on solid rock means to be a hearing, responding disciple, not a phony, superficial one. Practicing obedience becomes the solid foundation to weather the storms of life. Build your family on Christ, the Solid Rock. All other ground is sinking sand.
How is your foundation? Please let me know in the comments below. I would love to hear what you think. I know that you are reading!!!
