Seventy years ago yesterday marked the beginning of the end for Jews existing in the Nazi sphere of influence. Although nearly half a million Jews had been systematically murdered since June of 1941, Nazi Germany needed a more “efficient” method to execute the “Final Solution” of the Jewish problem.http://www.dw-world.de/dw/article/0,,15672933,00.html?maca=en-rss-en-all-1573-rdf
The Wannsee Conference on January 20th, 1942 headed by Reichssicherheitshauptamt, or Reich Security Head Office (RSHA) boss Reinhard Heydrich, pulled in the brightest minds Nazi Germany had at the time to coordinate and find a more efficient way to deal with the Jews of Europe. Fifteen high ranking and highly educated Nazi officials, including a rising henchman named Adolph Eichmann, gathered together to implement the most murderous solution in history. Half these young men had already obtained doctorates from distinguished colleges and universities.
Those that erroneously believe education will solve evil or social issues need to examine the results of what this highly educated group came up with.
All it took was 90 minutes to seal the fate of over 11 million Jews that were trapped behind the Nazi war machine that had already overrun the majority of Europe. Many countries refusing to accept Jews as refugees sealed the fate of more than six million Jews that died at the hands of Germany’s governmental policy. “When did someone qualify as a Jew?” became a core question to Germany’s extermination plan.
At the Wannsee Conference, Heydrich saw an opportunity to advance his career since his only direct report was Heinrich Himmler. He eagerly solicited the cooperation of the Nazi officials at the meeting and got it. Heydrich himself was pleased with how enthusiastic the support was for the reprehensible plan, a concern he earlier had before the meeting that some would resist his idea.
One official was more concerned about keeping a sufficient force of Jewish slave labor for the war effort. Another official wanted a process in place to take care of the “mischlinge”, a German word for crossbreeds or mongrels, that those identified would be sterilized instead of deported. Still another official wanted to be first to implement the extermination policy for the Polish Jews at Krakow.
Heydrich received all the support he needed and more. By the following January of 1943, death camps equipped with gas chambers were under construction. The mass execution chambers could not be built fast enough.http://http://tool.donation-net.net/Images/Email/1032/WannseeConference.pdf
The meeting concluded with a celebratory drink of cognac.
This planned mass extermination was not only done by Heydrich or SS foot soldiers, but parts of German police and military, and by thousands of other public servants who were too eager to comply with the death to the Jews policy. The national compliance effort was unprecedented for what was suppose to be a civilized society.
Blaming Jews for everything that went wrong prepared the public psyche for what was yet to come. It became a matter of convenience to strip Jewish citizens of their rights and “move them out of everyone’s way”.
Yesterday, Christian groups began meeting in Berlin, Germany on the anniversary of the Wannsee Conference in attempt to forestall the rising epidemic of Jewish hatred that is once again simmering in many nations. Blaming Jews for economic ills today is not unlike what transpired in Germany between World War 1 and World War 2.
Has the world learned the tragic lesson concerning Jewish genocide? Looking at what is transpiring today globally…….apparently not.
