If you live in Jackson, Mississippi, or are a casual visitor, you may notice people walking and carrying signs. These people are a part of the national movement called 'Occupy America'. The movement is in protest of corporate greed, especially on Wall Street. And the 'Occupy Jackson' movement has found an ally, and believe it or not, it is the Jackson Tea Party.
According to Jackson Tea Party spokesman Ron Acton, the two groups share some of the same views. He has reached out to Daniel Fracker, one of the founders of the Occupy Jackson group. "We are talking to each other and we are figuring out that this is a swindle going on between banks and the big corporations", said Acton. Acton said he attended an Occupy Jackson meeting, and he and Fracker have exchanged e-mails to share information and articles. One would think that a group that is conservative as the Tea Party, and the liberal Occupy Jackson wouldn't have anything in common, but they do.
The greed in corporate America is the enemy, and you see it everyday. Just look at all the big companies, and how the executives get stock options, and big bonuses, and the big raises while the rest of the workers get pennies. The Tea Party and Occupy Jackson, i guess the saying is true, politics make strange bedfellows.
