The iPhone 5 Versus the iPhone 4S

Lately, Apple has been hyping up some of its latest products, including the iPhone 5. But, is the newer iPhone worth the extra money or could a person get by with one of its predecessors? The comparisons between the iPhone 5 and 4s can be found on Apple’s website. At this point, the iPhone 4 seems obsolete. So, this article will be comparing these two phones. The features of both iPhones seem identical. A person can go down the list and see how many identical features each phone has, including: a retina display on each iPhone, Siri (personal assistant), an iSight camera (photo camera) with identical features, and a video camera, to name a few (http://www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/).The few key differences seem less than obvious at first glance.

The iPhone 5 is slightly taller, slimmer and lighter. In addition, the iPhone 5 has a display screen that’s half an inch larger. That’s half of a Jolly Rancher in length/ height. The display also has higher image resolution. Also, the iPhone 5 has a 720p HD Facetime camera, but would an average consumer notice such features? The new phone’s video camera allows people to take pictures while video recording. The phone has an A6 chip, which has a slightly faster CPU than its predecessor’s A5 chip. The most major difference, besides the price is the iPhone 5’s ability to hold 16, 32, or even 64 gigabytes worth of space. The iPhone 4S goes for $99 and has a 16 GB storage capacity. The iPhone 4S costs $99, while the iPhone costs $199 for the 16 GB device, $299 for the 32 GB device, and $399 for its iPhone with 64 GB of storage space(www.apple.com/iphone/compare-iphones/). So, if a consumer wants the latest technology and/or more storage space, then the iPhone 5 is ideal for him/her. If a person just needs a sophisticated phone and 16 GB of storage space will due, then he/she should spare the extra money and get the iPhone 4S.
