Torrington Connecticut will be the site of an almost Hollywood like movie premiere next Wednesday. The Warner Theatre will be debuting the first Connecticut showing of “The Innkeepers”, a film that was shot entirely at the haunted Yankee Pedlar Inn on Main Street in Torrington.
The film follows the story of two workers trying to keep the inn open in its final days by proving the many claims of paranormal activity. The official premiere is February 8th and will include a pre and post-film party from 4 to 7 p.m. The party will include a paranormal booth, photography booth, live entertainment, appetizers and free access to the movie sets. After the movie, there will also be a raffle, live entertainment and a desert table.
Tickets are $25 per person and pre purchased tickets grant access to the pre and post party without waiting in line. I will certainly be in attendance for this once in a lifetime event. The inn opened in 1891 and has several reports of paranormal activity such as, phantom smells, a rocking chair that moves on its own, employees being regularly touched by invisible forces. There is also an unseen person that sits on the bed with guests in their hotel rooms and the full bodied apparition of Frank Conley, the original owner of the inn that appears in the inns pub.
Tickets can be purchased at The Warner Theatre box office, please call 860-489-7180 or visit www.warnertheatre.org to order them.
