The Indiana Ghostbusters

The Indiana Ghostbusters was founded in 2005, when founding members Jon Ray, Dustin Gardner and Jacob Didot built their equipment for the Star Wars Celebration 3 Convention. Now 6 years later, the Indiana Ghostbusters has grown to a total of 9 members and have added a number of charities they walk for and a Haunted House they volunteer at.

The Indiana Ghostbusters use their replica costumes and props to help bring added attention to the charities they walk for. In the past the group has walked for such charities like The Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure, Answers For Autism, Run For Ronald (Benefit the Ronald McDonald House). They are always looking for other charities to walk with or help out. They recently joined with one of the Ohio Ghostbuster groups to help raise money for Japan.

For the last 4 years, they have volunteered on the weekends throughout October at the Asylum House in Greenwood Indiana’s German Park and will be doing so again this year. “The Asylum House is the best Haunted House in Indy that anyone can go to. The workers at the Asylum House work so hard and do far more than just yell boo at you (unlike a lot of Haunted Houses). It is a fully interactive haunted house and by far the only one in Indy that has it’s very own set of Ghostbusters.” Quote from Jon Ray.

So really what The Indiana Ghostbusters do is as much charity work as they can, because most of have been affected directly or know a family member who has been affected by the causes they walk for. They volunteer at Indy’s best haunted house, The Asylum House because when they wanted to visit a haunted house in their gear, The Asylum House was the only ones who would have them out. Now they are really close with the workers at the Asylum House. They also do the conventions, it is always fun to go and meet up with other Ghostbusters from different parts of the country or meet actors and actresses who come to the conventions. People might catch them out and about filming video shorts for their website and YouTube.
