'The Hunger Games' interactive video game coming soon to iTunes store

Lionsgate has announced plans for an interactive, role-playing video game based on The Hunger Games, which will be available on the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.

"The Hunger Games: Girl on Fire" game finds users in the role of Katniss Everdeen, as she is attacked by a swarm of tracker jackers in the forest outside of District 12. Players must help Katniss escape, and will use her skills like running, jumping, and archery.

There's no word yet on when the game will be released, just "coming soon" -- but Lionsgate notes that the game will be available through the iTunes store.

This joins the previously announced Funtactix social interactive game for The Hunger Games being released March 23rd.
