The highly anticipated action film The Hunger Games: Catching Fire won't be coming to theaters until next fall, but Entertainment Weekly released two new images on Wednesday, Jan. 9 of the principle actors in the new film. Based on the best-selling novel by Suzanne Collins, the film will open in theaters on November 22, 2013.
The first image shows Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Mellark in stylish outfits talking to the people of a district while on the Victor's Tour for winning The Hunger Games. Katniss is speaking into a microphone and reading from a card. while Peeta stand next to her. The second image is of Liam Hemsworth's character Gale Hawthorne being restrained by guards.
The official plot synopsis is listed below:
begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour' of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever
Directed by Francis Lawrence, the second installment in The Hunger Games trilogy also stars Sam Clafin, Jena Malone, Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci.
