Fans of “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” movie sequel have reason to celebrate this week, as Empire Online revealed via Entertainment Weekly this Friday, Jan. 11, brand new cast photos from the film set of “Catching Fire.” In addition to featuring shots of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and Liam Hemsworth as Gale Hawthorne, a single Tumblr post sent Twitter fans into a frenzy on Thursday after a writer claimed that the full “Catching Fire” trailer would come out this April 14. However, these reports remain entirely unconfirmed, so a release date for the catching-flame film is still not officially set yet.
After “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” movie fans were able to feast their eyes on Entertainment Weekly’s brand new magazine cover this week, sources also revealed some new photos of the talented cast. It seems that the rebellious spark in Panem has arrived, as fans can glimpse some great shots of Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) together on their world tour, Gale Hawthorne being hassled, Primrose, and the cold, perilous President Snow.
Along with this fan frenzy, thousands of fellow “The Hunger Games” sequel aficionados were also excited this week after a new post on Tumblr appeared to have “confirmed” that the full “Catching Fire” movie trailer release date had been leaked online, was set for April 14.
While the new cast photos and interviews with EW are indeed true, there is no evidence at all that “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” trailer is coming out on this given date, as Lionsgate Entertainment has offered no word on its official release.
Yet with all this great movie news headed our way this early in 2013, it seems we Panem fans have a lot more to look forward to in the coming months with Katniss, Peeta, and Gale in “Catching Fire.” Stay tuned!
