Let the 75th annual Hunger Games begin!
The first TV spot for the much anticipated sequel to the franchise, Catching Fire, was released Monday. The trailer is filled with new clips which included the love triangle between our heroine Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne.
The TV spot also gives the audience a glimpse of the glamorous life of the Capitol, complete with bizarre fashion and flashy decorations. Aside from the gorgeous scenes, the trailer touches on the intense uprisings brewing outside the Capitol of Panem with Coldplay’s Atlas playing in the background.
Lionsgate official synopsis for the movie reads as follows:
Catching Fire begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever.
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Lenny Kravitz, Stanley Tucci, and Donald Sutherland reprise their roles for the sequel and final installments of the franchise, Mockingjay, with new addition which include Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, Lynn Cohen, and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is directed by Francis Lawrence and opens everywhere Nov. 22, 2013.
