The Human Body : A marvelous, wonderful creation of God

See also

The human body is fearfully and wonderfully made. "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. " (Psalm 139:14) (KJV). An awesome Creator who designed us from the beginning when He created the first man and the first women, gave us a highly complex body with an unique design. Man is the ultimate creature on Earth, because we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). Man was fully formed from the beginning. We did not evolve from apes. The human body is so marvelously put together that evolution which is by chance over a long period of time could of never created such a masterpiece.

There is many parts that make the human body function, such as the brain. Consider the human brain. Each brain cell contains about 10 trillion nerve cells, which make between 10,000 and 100,000 connections with other cells. There is more nerve connections in the brain than there is cells in the body. The brain triggers hundreds of millions of impulses daily. Our brain is where our soul is. Some people think the heart is where our soul is housed, but this is not true. Our physical heart is only a pump, that circulates our blood through our body. The heart beats more than 2.8 billion times during the average human life span; and, in that time, it will pump around 60 million gallons of blood : The fluid of life (Leviticus 17:11,14). The heart generates enough muscle power every day to lift a small car about 50 feet. The heart's average pulse rate is 72 beats at rest for adult males and 75 beats for adult females. The pulse rate can increase as much as 200 beats per minute during extreme active exercise. Missing just one or two beats and you would be dead.

Consider next the blood. In general, the larger you are, the greater your blood volume. A 155 pound person has about 11 pints of blood. The body's entire blood supply washes through the lungs about every minute. Human red blood corpuscles are created by bone marrow at the rate of 2 million corpuscles per second! Each lives for 120 to 130 days. In the lifetime, bone marrow creates about half a ton of red corpuscles. All this is supposed to be accidental?

The blood is the life-giving fluid of the body. But there is blood that cleanses us from all sin. This blood is God's Blood. "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace." (Ephesians 1:17). "Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." (I Peter 1:18-19).

The Lord Jesus Christ made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He died on the cross, shedding His precious Blood for us, He then was buried and rose again on the third day, all according to the Scriptures (I Corinthians 15:1-4). The One who was our Creator became our Savior. " But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him." (Romans 5:8-9).
