The trend of high-end burgers instigated by the introduction of Daniel Boulud’s famous $27 effort over a decade ago coupled with the popularity of distinct bar menus means more restaurants than ever are serving some form of the all-American burger. So, I thought it would be interesting to compare prices across the local dining landscape.
Since the nicer restaurants serve burgers in the half-pound size, nearly always with cheese, and with a side of fries included in the price, the half-pound cheeseburger with fries and is the measure. It is noted if the burger does not feature a half-pound patty. And, the price of fries is added if not already included.
